DEVIOUS. WE GET ABOUT A BIT!

New Year, new ideas, same attitude! After the exertions of the festive period Devious have been taking a little time out to recoup and reflect. Only thing is, we just can't stop thinking about 1; the band, 2, you guys, and 3; how we can make 2010 one hell of a lot more Devious than 2009!

With this in mind we have been listening to your suggestions and are working on new songs to work into the set in the coming weeks. There will also be some additions and improvements to the site and whatever else we come up with along the way.

The first of our new additions is Devious on twitter. That's right, follow the inner workings and most intimate thoughts of the band as we work, rest and rock! (Warning, may contain nuts)

NEW YEAR'S EVE ** NOW SOLD OUT ** (SORRY, NO ADMISSION WITHOUT A TICKET)

Devious will be in the Cambrian Lodge N U M Social Club & Institute in Tonypandy on New Year's Eve. We are running the show ourselves so it is open for everyone and not just the club members.

Tickets will be available from the club from 1st December or by ringing Terry on 07968 533547. We are planning to make the seating allocated, so if you and a bunch of your mates all buy tickets and you all want to sit together TELL US!!! we will allocate you named seats. But remember, this will be on a first come first served (best seats) basis.

We have already had enquiries for around 100 so don`t hang about, we REALLY want you to come! Tickets will all be numbered and they all will go into a prize draw (what the prize is has yet to be finalised, but don't worry, it wont be a pair of Jimmy9's smelly socks). The NUM Club has a licence for 300 seats and we want EVERYONE to have a seat, so once the tickets are all gone very sorry but that's IT!

Help us make this the best party in the Rhondda and do us proud (as you always do!).

IT'S COMING BACK! (updated 30/09/09)

As you can probably tell by the slightly dodgy sound effects on the front page of the site, Hallowe'en is fast approaching and that can mean only one thing! Sexy nurse and witch outfits complete with fishnet stockings! Yeahesss!

Ok, TWO things. There's also the matter of The Devious Halloween Ball to contend with. Fancy dress is a must and if the standards of past years are anything to go by, this fourth year should be a belter!

Ton Pentre AFC is once more the place, Saturday 31st October the date. Tickets are a mere £5.00 and go on sale from the venue this weekend (3rd October). Once they sell out, that's it, there's no entry without one!

So leave the kids to fight it out with granny over who gets the softer jelly sweets and come and get freaky with Devious this Hallowe'en! Go on, you'll be safe with us. Honest!

Charity Event - Rhondda Sports Centre - 19.06.09

Devious are proud to be playing a Charity Gig in aid of Myeloma UK, a charity that aims to provide information and support to those affected by this form of bone marrow cancer and also to improve treatment and care.

Your favourite leather-clad rockers will be joined by TWIX and Red Addiction in what is set to be a fantastic night of entertainment in support of a very worthwhile cause.

A prize raffle will be held on the night and also on hand will be a photographer who will be snapping away through the evening and the resulting evidence... I mean photos, will be available to buy for a small fee.

A Few Thank Yous (22/04/09)

Saturday (the 18th) saw a new venue added to the Devious map when we played the Cymmer Pioneer Club. A great night was had by all the band (once they finally turned up) and from the looks of things the audience enjoyed themselves too.

A big 'THANK YOU' once more to the guys that helped unload our equipment and another 'Thank You' to the Swansea girls who travelled all the way up to see little old us!

Sunday night (19th) at Morgan's in Llanharan was another great gig and this time the thanks go to all the Rhondda mob that came along to see the show.

Get your tents out! (07/04/09)

The more beady-eyed Deviants among you may have noticed a few big events cropping up in the Devious calendar this year.

For those of you who need little excuse to crash in the middle of a field with only a hastily constructed tent (and copious amounts of alcohol) to protect you from the elements, three dates will be of interest to you.

General Update (13/03/09)

Despite the lack of news updates lately you can be assured that the Devious boys are working long and hard behind the scenes. With the chaotic festive season out of the way (possibly our busiest ever!) we have taken that momentum and continued it into the year of the 9! Those of you who have yet to see us this year will be treated to new songs and maybe a few surprises to go with them as we continue to improve the show.

As far as the site is concerned, we have added a guestbook (see menu) and we would love to hear your thoughts, reviews and greetings or whatever you want to add. Just try to keep it reasonably clean though eh! (You know who you are!)

It's that time of year again! (10/12/08)

Well, not a lot of 2008 left now but we will be doing our utmost to make sure it goes out with a bang! Party season is well underway so be sure to check the 'Events' page to see if we're playing a venue near you because, believe us, we're going to be BUSY!

Devious Showcase (06/10/08)

Devious recently auditioned for TED, an agency who specialise in providing quality entertainment to venues nationwide. Six bands and numerous solo acts/duos each had a 15 minute slot to sell themselves as best they could for the opportunity of reaching new audiences the length and breadth of this fair isle. Needless to say Devious set their stall, put their goods on the table (literally) and didn't even bother with a coaster. If that kind of Rock 'n' Roll rebellion doesn't fill a niche then we don't even want to know what does!

Halloween Ball III - The Aftermath

What can we say? It was an amazing turnout yet again and boy, you people didn't disappoint! The effort and imagination put into the costumes this year was better than ever, we just hope you had as good a time as we did entertaining you. A big 'Thank you' and a 'Hell Yeah' goes out to you all!

Gig Update (10/10/08)

Saturday 29th November sees Devious make the journey to the Ebbw Valley (sorry Rhondda, but you can't keep us all to yourselves) when we visit the Swffryd Social Club in Crumlin. So come along, tell them 'The 9' sent you!

Rumour Stompin'!

It's that time of year already! Chris disappears on his annual trip to the Cairngorms with his mycology club for a couple of weeks and all of a sudden we find out that Devious has split up (again)!

We can confirm that we are very much together and looking forward to the fast approaching crazy season. Look out for us at a pub/club/car park/kebab shop near you!
